An absolute treasure. Seriously, if you're looking for a perfect location in West Maui this is it. Walking distance to all you need. Within a block of a great grocery store, restaurants, the convenient Maui bus route, adorable food truck area, moped rental (amazing way to get around!), and that doesn't even scratch the surface. With reports of how crowded things are in Maui, this place is your slice of peace. The Papakea resort is extremely well-maintained and so so quiet. You have oceanfront views and plenty of lounges available during a time when other beaches are packed. The studio itself is perfectly placed to sit on the lanai patio every evening to catch incredible sunsets. It was really sweet to look out across the resort and see others sitting out watching the sunset as well. We couldn't get a rental car since they were out during our dates, but the Uber ride from the airport and the taxi back we're about 160$ total and after that we didn't even need a rental car to get around. Finally, Bob & Sue are just the best. Any time leading up to the trip I could ask them for advice or help and they would not only respond quickly but with everything I could possibly need to know. Once we were checked in the front desk was able to help with things like getting last minute tickets to a luau or arranging for transportation if we needed. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. I already miss our sunset cocktail hour on the patio! The only thing I would do better next time is to plan on grilling one or two nights we were there. The BBQs in the pool area are well maintained and cleaned daily and we just didn't make the time to grill up a nice steak. :)

We just stared unfocused from the lanai out across the green to the ocean relaxing to the wonderful sounds of the water fountains and falls and the crashing surf. We snorkeled most every day. It was so amazing and beautiful. Thank you, thank you for the equipment.

We barbequed twice. We loved your bed. We appreciated all the stuff. We played golf at the putting green every day. It was great to do all our laundry and come home with clean clothes.

Thank you so much for all your help with the accommodations. The resort is beautiful, the one bedroom was extremely comfortable -- had everything I needed. My trip to Maui was more than I expected. We have stayed in Bob and Sue's condo 12 times over 10 years and have truly enjoyed it. As former airline employees we are pretty picky and we really like staying here. With the ocean sunsets, bbq grills and the tropical setting on the grounds, it makes for a Hawaiian paradise. The view from the condo itself is great. You can see whales jumping in the ocean right from the lanai. Thanks Bob and Sue for so many wonderful times. We love it here.

We enjoyed our stay- the condo has all the amenities to be comfortable and feel like home. Bob and Sue gave great local restaurant recommendations- several of which are very close to the condo. The bed was very comfortable and so were the pillows- which is nice since you never know what you're getting. Our kids enjoyed the putting green and all the local cats on the property. It's whale season and we saw a ton!

This place was great. It was my husband and I's first time on Maui and we brought our toddler with us. There are 2 pools so the pool area didn't get too overcrowded. We mostly used the pool because our daughter hated the beach, but there were beaches within walking distance and beach equipment available. There were lots of other families there with kids. It was very quiet, we went to bed early each night and had no problems with noise. We did a lot of cooking and the kitchen was well equipped and the grills by the pool were very nice. Bob and Sue gave a lot of helpful hints (car rental, restaurants, places to go etc) . We really liked the location, after driving around the island we appreciated that this was a little less busy/populated, but there was still plenty of shopping/restaurants close by. It was easy to check-in and the grounds were beautiful. We would definitely stay here again if we go back to Maui.

The view from the condo was absolutely gorgeous. Watched the sunrise and the moon set right from the balcony. We had everything we needed. Communication was almost immediate when I emailed Sue. Great location. Convenient to stores, restaurants, great beaches. So happy to have found such a great place to stay.

Had an amazing stay at this beautiful ocean view apartment at Papakea resort. I cooked most days and the kitchen was fully equipped with everything I needed. Plenty of linens as well as beach chairs, some snorkeling equipment, and even a cooler. The location is awesome, just about a 10 minute drive to my favorite Maui beach, Napili. Would 10/10 recommend and book again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Bob and Sue’s condo at Papakea. The grounds and location are really great and the front view of the grounds and ocean is just what we wanted. We barbecued dinner a couple of nights and enjoyed sitting on the lounge chairs at night under the stars in front of the ocean. We also enjoyed the pool every night. We highly recommend this condo at Papakea.

We had such an enjoyable stay at Bob and Sue’s place! The patio and view was so enjoyable each morning for breakfast and coffee, the bed was very comfortable, and the kitchen was nice to have when saving on meals. Would love to stay again!

Bob and Sue’s pace in Lahaina is great. Upon arrival the place was spotless. The furniture and decorations are very nice. The view out the front of the unit overlooking the manicured grounds with the palm trees and ocean in the background is spectacular. Being on the second floor you have added privacy with just one flight of stairs to manage and there is an elevator for bringing in your luggage or for those who need it. Aston manages the property; the facilities and features such as the koi ponds are great and the grounds are immaculate. Parking is right outside the unit. The king bed is comfy. There are 2 ceiling fans, one in the living room and one over the bed which facilitate temperature control. We appreciated having a small AC in the living room to use especially at night. We enjoyed coffee and breakfast every morning on balcony. The washer and dryer were also nice to have. Beach chairs, umbrella, beach towels, and an assortment of floatation devices are a very nice extra if you want to visit a public beach. The local information on restaurants and local attractions provided by Bob and Sue was much appreciated and utilized
